Can anyone come up with their own ideas anymore?

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

This morning I was looking at Gibson’s website to see if anything cool had come out yet. As I was looking, I got one of those “Why does this look so familiar?” moments. Then it hit me, I was looking at an Apple clone! In this case however, it wasn’t a computer rip-off. Now Microsoft isn’t the only company copying Apple, Gibson is doing it too.

Plagues of the Internet

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

One of the most irritating things on the Internet right now has become so popular, that it’s almost impossible to find a Weblog without finding these things. I am, of course, talking about the infamous smileys. Not so long ago, they were just a neat thing you did on IMs to show people that you were happy {: )}, sad {: ( }, or some other emotion. Those days are over now.

Something similar to and often used with smileys is text-talk. Their original purpose was to save typing length by super-shortening phrases into  acronyms. Now, it’s just BS taking up webspace. It’s LOL this, or ROFL that. Blarg.

Next-up is the wonderful world of glitches. WordPress 2.7 seems to have this thing where if I post something, it says I wrote it from another account.

Then there’s the lovely Macintosh,  Apple’s excuse for computers. Apple doesn’t seem to understand that the reason that they lag behind Microsoft is because no one can afford them, and if they could, they’d just get something better, faster, and plays games.

That’s it for today, so have a wonderful weekend.

MacWorld 2009

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

If you haven’t heard yet, Apple’s decided to drop MacWorld Expo. This means that next year’s will be the last, and if you’re a Mac fan, this means no more exciting announcements right? Wrong. Apple still has their own events to show stuff off at, including the famous WWDC.

What does this mean for us? Absolutely nothing. We still get to see the cool Apple stuff come out and criticize the hell out of it. So in the mean-time, Verizon sucks.

It’s been a while…

I haven’t had internet in a while, so it’s been very lonely over here. On that note, I’d like to say that I’ve finished four new maps for AoE2 to put up, I’ve completed a two-page review on some neat stuff, and I’ve finally aquired reasonable internet speeds with the new ISP.

As for non-personal stuff, the site is now fully compatible with Internet Explorer. I’ll post up those maps by the end of next week, so if you want them, stop by on the 1st.

Oh yeah, it’s the site’s birthday today, it’s 2 now.

Mods and stuff coming eventually.

I’m working on a new map for Age of Empires 2 and 3. When it’s done, I’ll post something and put it up on the downloads page. Just thought I’d mention it.

My new blog…

I’m working on it right now. I’m porting my current one to it now.
