As a Treo user, I’ve been really looking forward to the Treo Pro to come to a North American vendor, but it seemes like that may not happen any time soon. The most likely vendor for Palm to choose is ATT, or possibly even T-Mobile, (The Treo Pro is GSM-based, so the
current version can not be released on Verizon, which uses EV-Do Rev. 1)
The Treo Pro is Palm’s newest smartphone and the successor to the Treo 750 (or 800, depending on who you ask.). It is Palm’s fastest mobile device ever, and brings the ability to join Wi-Fi networks to the Treo line.
I currently have the Treo 750 and it’s been the best phone I’ve ever used, so I can’t imagine how this one handles.

As every Apple fanboy knows, next week will be the last year the company will be at the MacWorld Expo. Can Apple make this last one the best? According to various MacSites across the internet, a lot can show up on Tuesday.
Many people are expecting an update to the Mac Mini, a preview of OS X 10.6, and iWork to become web-based. Unfortunately, NTC will be unable to cover MacWorld 2009, as our only editor will be at school during the day.
We will however, post the announcements onsite.

What better way to celebrate the new year than by releasing NTC Forum Edition 2.0? Feel free to post and sign up. My personal favorite part of it is the tech support area. I love helping people with tech issues.

This morning I was looking at Gibson’s website to see if anything cool had come out yet. As I was looking, I got one of those “Why does this look so familiar?” moments. Then it hit me, I was looking at an Apple clone! In this case however, it wasn’t a computer rip-off. Now Microsoft isn’t the only company copying Apple, Gibson is doing it too.

One of the most irritating things on the Internet right now has become so popular, that it’s almost impossible to find a Weblog without finding these things. I am, of course, talking about the infamous smileys. Not so long ago, they were just a neat thing you did on IMs to show people that you were happy {: )}, sad {: ( }, or some other emotion. Those days are over now.
Something similar to and often used with smileys is text-talk. Their original purpose was to save typing length by super-shortening phrases into acronyms. Now, it’s just BS taking up webspace. It’s LOL this, or ROFL that. Blarg.
Next-up is the wonderful world of glitches. WordPress 2.7 seems to have this thing where if I post something, it says I wrote it from another account.
Then there’s the lovely Macintosh, Apple’s excuse for computers. Apple doesn’t seem to understand that the reason that they lag behind Microsoft is because no one can afford them, and if they could, they’d just get something better, faster, and plays games.
That’s it for today, so have a wonderful weekend.

If you haven’t heard yet, Apple’s decided to drop MacWorld Expo. This means that next year’s will be the last, and if you’re a Mac fan, this means no more exciting announcements right? Wrong. Apple still has their own events to show stuff off at, including the famous WWDC.
What does this mean for us? Absolutely nothing. We still get to see the cool Apple stuff come out and criticize the hell out of it. So in the mean-time, Verizon sucks.

I haven’t had internet in a while, so it’s been very lonely over here. On that note, I’d like to say that I’ve finished four new maps for AoE2 to put up, I’ve completed a two-page review on some neat stuff, and I’ve finally aquired reasonable internet speeds with the new ISP.
As for non-personal stuff, the site is now fully compatible with Internet Explorer. I’ll post up those maps by the end of next week, so if you want them, stop by on the 1st.
Oh yeah, it’s the site’s birthday today, it’s 2 now.

I’m working on a new map for Age of Empires 2 and 3. When it’s done, I’ll post something and put it up on the downloads page. Just thought I’d mention it.
